Dating back to 1887 and located approximately 12 miles northeast of Los Angeles, Burbank is considered today to be a prominent media and entertainment-oriented city, which prides itself on a high quality of life, combining 21st century technology with a small-town feel.  Burbank is home to many music and film companies, and such well known companies as Warner Brothers, Walt Disney Studios and the west coast studios of NBC. Close proximity to major attractions, a variety of local shopping and dining options, and home to the Bob Hope Airport (formerly known as the Burbank Airport) makes Burbank an ideal location for both tourists and residents alike. The current population is approximately 100,000 people.
